Day 3 in Tokyo: A Day of Adventures (Friday, 24th)

Today started early with a sense of excitement as the Koi show and buying trip draw closer. Each member of our group chose something they wanted to experience in Tokyo, making for a diverse and memorable day of exploration.

Our first stop was a visit to a Harley-Davidson dealership in the heart of the city. Known not only for their iconic motorbikes but also their unique apparel, the dealership offered a glimpse into a subculture that blends seamlessly into Tokyo's dynamic urban scene. Browsing through the clothing and admiring the sleek motorbikes, we couldn’t help but be impressed by the fusion of Japanese efficiency and Harley’s signature style.

Next, we visited Meiji Jingu, a serene forested area in the middle of Tokyo housing a significant Shinto shrine. Walking through the massive torii gates and into the tranquil surroundings, it felt like stepping into another world entirely. The lush greenery and traditional architecture offered a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle, and we took time to appreciate the spiritual atmosphere and history of the shrine.

Our final destination for the day was the famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing. Watching thousands of people crossing from all directions in perfect harmony was an incredible sight. We couldn’t resist capturing the moment with videos and timelapse footage, which will surely be a great memory of this iconic location.

To top it off, we attempted to visit the Shibuya Sky experience, a 360-degree open-air observation deck atop the Shibuya Scramble Square skyscraper. Unfortunately, there was no availability, which was a disappointment for some but a relief for those in our group who aren’t fans of heights. Even so, the day ended on a high note, full of unique experiences that will stay with us.

As our time in Tokyo comes to an end, we’re all eagerly anticipating the peace and tranquility of the Niigata mountains. The prospect of finding extraordinary Koi and immersing ourselves in the beauty of nature has us counting down the hours.
