Day 4 in Japan: The All Japan Koi Show (Saturday, 25th)

Today was the long-awaited Koi Show day, and we were all buzzing with excitement to see what the All Japan Koi Show had in store. To ensure a smooth journey to the Ryutsu Center, Michael, Craig, and I decided to do a practice run using the rail network from Shinagawa Station. Despite an initial hiccup of boarding the wrong train, the journey proved easy to navigate once we quickly swapped to the correct route. The transition to the monorail was seamless, and it brought us straight to the venue.

One thing that continues to amaze us about Tokyo is how clean and efficient everything is. The rail system, despite its complexity, runs like clockwork and makes exploring the city a breeze.

The Koi Show itself exceeded all our expectations. It was a stunning showcase of some of the most magnificent Koi in the world, and the sheer quality on display was a real credit to the organizers and everyone involved. The variety, vibrancy, and excellence of the Koi left us in awe and even more inspired for tomorrow’s buying trip to Niigata. Witnessing these incredible fish up close was a reminder of why the All Japan Koi Show is such a prestigious event in the world of Koi enthusiasts.

Meanwhile, back in the UK, yesterday saw Dek and Ben conducting their very first live-streamed auction with the help and support of some of Elite Koi's friends. Congratulations to everyone involved! The event was a huge success, with bids coming in from around the world—even one from a member of our Japan trip group! This just goes to show that Elite Koi runs the best live Koi auctions in the world.

As the day winds down, we’re filled with anticipation for tomorrow’s journey to the Niigata mountains. The prospect of selecting exceptional Koi to bring back home has us all eager to begin the next chapter of this incredible trip.
