  Overview

  The Cetus Sieve is a self-adjusting sieve which can be installed either gravity fed or pump fed. The Cetus Sieve enables your pond water to be filtered of large amounts of waste and debris before the water enters your current filter system. This process is commonly referred to as “pre-filtering”. The Cetus Sieve can also be used as a stand-alone unit to remove leaves and other floating debris from your pond via a surface skimmer. The Cetus Sieve will efficiently and effectively remove large amounts of mechanical waste from your pond. The Cetus Sieve is compatible with all filtration systems, however it is the perfect prefilter for the Evolution Aqua Nexus filter range. For gravity fed systems the Cetus Sieve has a weir which will automatically adjust to the flow rate of your pump. (Max flow rate 18,000 litres/hr) When the Cetus Sieve is used in front of any other biological/mechanical filter the period in between cleaning will be extended. The biological process is improved by the removal of organic matter which would consume oxygen and leach ammonia and other compounds into the water.

  How the Cetus Sieve works

  Installing the Cetus Sieve The Cetus Sieve has a variable inlet height using the unique patented Pondflow regulation system – for use when gravity fed. This allows water levels within the pond to drop without causing the circulating pump to be starved of water. The Cetus will allow a skimmer or a bottom drain to accept vast amounts of waste without excessive cleaning needed to be carried out. The water must then be pumped to either a normal filter above pond level (Nexus Eazy/Eazy Pod) or to a pressurised filter.

  If pump fed, the sieve is placed above pond water level and then the exit water is gravity dropped into your main filter.

  The Cetus sieve is a bow screen pre-filter, suitable for pre-filtration of any biological filter including all pressured filters. It is advised that all pressurised filters be pre-filtered using a Cetus to reduce excessive backwashing and maintenance due to heavy solids.

  Manufactured in the UK by Evolution Aqua, the K+Advanced Filter is produced using rotational moulding process; the body is made of a single homogenous material meaning there is no joint line, the wall thickness is consistent throughout, there are no weak points, and the feet are built-in as part of the body.   The benefits of using K+Media  have been well documented since its launch in 2019, including its ability to filter particles down to one micro. The design and profile of the media helps to improve flow, its vast protected surface area of 1,025m2 per m3, or the total area of 5x tennis courts, maintains stable bio-films and its unique manufacturing process where minerals and enzymes are added during the extrusion process, ensure K+Media matures faster than any other type of filtration media.   Peace of Mind

  Because Evolution Aqua are in control of the manufacturing process they can put the filters through rigorous testing and quality control checks before leaving the factory.   Economical to Run

  To optimise performance, there are unique double laterals inside the filter that help to improve flow through the bed of K+Media, that is supplied with every filter.   They are simple to install and can be used as a standalone filter or as part of a larger filtration system with a Nexus+ or on a skimmer line.   How K+Advanced Filters work?

  Water is pumped into the filter from the pond, through the multi-port valve where the internal pipework directs the water to the bottom laterals.

  As the water flows upwards inside the K+Advanced Filter, dirt, debris and waste are trapped within the mass of K+Media that floats at the top of the filter. The vast protected surface area provided by K+Media also provides a home for beneficial bacteria, delivering mechanical and biological filtration.

  
  The filtered water flows back through the laterals and pipework at the top of the filter, through the multi-port valve and back down the return line into the pond.
  
  The K+Advanced Filter, is incredibly easy to clean by simply moving the handle on the multi-port valve into the corresponding positions to perform a backwash and rinse which flushes out the waste trapped inside.

  

  
  

  
  

  How to install K+Advanced Filters?

  The K+Advanced Filter can be installed as shown if you are planning to use a pre-filter such as the Evolution Aqua Cetus Sieve. If you are not planning to use a pre-filter we highly recommend that you fit a strainer basket to the pump.This will prevent leaves, string algae etc. from entering the filter and pump.

  *It is recommended that all pipework on the pump side (from the pump to the filter and back to the pond) is installed on 2” pipe. Please note on the K+Advanced Filter 20 you will have to reduce your pipe down to 1½” to connect to the multiport valve. This will ensure that your pump is working at its maximum flow.

  Do not operate the multiport valve with the circulating pump switched on. The air blower ball valve must be closed when the circulating pump is running.
