A compact member of the Nexus family, the EazyPod Complete is a mechanical and biological filter system for garden ponds up to 10,000 litres. The EazyPod Complete utilises static K1 Micro, which provides enhanced biological benefits, even when using the EazyPod Complete solely as a mechanical waste filter. Available in Grey or Granite Green colours.

Overview

Unlike the EazyPod and EazyPodAir, the EazyPod Complete benefits from having an integrated 18 Watt UVC built in to the inlet section of the filter. This makes it a complete filter system in one, helping to eradicate green water, therefore delivering crystal clear and healthy water for your fish.

How the EazyPod Complete works

Water from the pond enters the EazyPod Complete via the inlet, cascading around the 18 Watt UV-C bulb, where any algae will be exposed to the UV-C radiation.

The water then flows around the circumference of the outer chamber of the EazyPod Complete, passing through the stainless steel grill causing many of the larger solids to be filtered out and settle in the base of the outer chamber. This is the first stage of mechanical filtration.

As water enters the central chamber, through the stainless steel grill, the fine smaller solids become trapped in the mass of K1 Micro. Bio-films build up on the protected surface area within each piece of media, allowing biological filtration to take place.

After passing through the K1 Micro, the clean water then rises and overflows into the inner return pipe and flows back to the pond via the outlet.

The EazyPod Complete is incredibly simple to clean. The connected air pump is used during the cleaning cycle to agitate the K1 Micro to free up any debris and waste that has built up within the filter.

All EazyPod Complete models are supplied with a 70 litre per minute air pump and accessory kit.

How the EazyPod Automatic works

The concept of the EazyPod Automatic is simple and yet innovative. Water enters via the inlet and
passes over an 18 watt UV Clarifying bulb (on UV versions ONLY), helping to kill any single celled algae
in the water.

The water then enters the outer chamber, which runs around the entire circumference of the
EazyPod. Between the outer chamber and the inner chamber, there is a stainless steel perforated
screen. These perforations are situated in the lower half of the screen and around its entire face.
This means that when the water passes from the outer to inner chamber,
a downward and upward flow is created. This causes many of the larger solids to settle in the base
of the outer chamber, due to the force of gravity.

The size of the perforations will not allow large mechanical waste to enter the inner chamber,
thus acting as a first stage mechanical filter. The inner chamber holds 18 litres of static K1 Micro
media. As the water enters the inner chamber, the fine smaller solids become entrapped in the K1
Micro. After passing through the K1 Micro, the clean water then rises and overflows into the inner
return pipe. From here it returns to the pond via the return outlet.

The EazyPod Automatic filtration system gives water quality and clarity that surpasses all
expectations. The nature and volume of the K1 Micro means, that when static, apart from being
a very efficient mechanical filter, there is more than enough surface area for beneficial bacteria to
colonise. Therefore on a smaller pond, the EazyPod Automatic is an excellent complete filter.

Installing the EazyPod Automatic

PUMP-FED INSTALLATION ONLY

By this we mean that if your pump is going to be used to supply the water to the filter, and the
filtered water then returns back into your pond via gravity, i.e. down a waterfall, or through a large
diameter pipe, this is referred to as PUMP FED (i.e. the water is fed to the filter using a pump).

Cleaning Cycle

The K1 Micro is cleaned by the integrated air pump located inside the control box, that is connected to the air line in the EazyPod Automatic, which in turn goes to an air ring in the base of the inner chamber. The air ring has small holes in it which causes the K1 Micro to move and therefore clean itself.
During the cleaning cycle, the finer particles escape into chamber from the K1 Micro. This waste water will be automatically dumped via a 1½ inch motorised ball valve.

Cleaning is fully automated on the EazyPod Automatic, and is controlled by a built-in timer, which is factory set at one clean every 3 days, however, this is easily adjustable to fit in with your pond requirements. The EazyPod Automatic will run a cleaning cycle which lasts approximately 6 and a half minutes.

When you introduce the Pure Pond balls into the biological chamber of your Nexus, they become one with moving bed, agitating alongside the K1 media, just waiting to smooth out any peaks and troughs of the Ammonia/Nitrite cycle. The Pure Pond balls also contain natural enzymes which will help to breakdown organic waste, leaving your pond with healthier, crystal clear water.

For best results add to the biological chamber in the filter, ideally contained within a filter bag.

Cetus Sieve

Overview

The Cetus Sieve is a self-adjusting sieve which can be installed either gravity fed or pump fed. The Cetus Sieve enables your pond water to be filtered of large amounts of waste and debris before the water enters your current filter system. This process is commonly referred to as “pre-filtering”. The Cetus Sieve can also be used as a stand-alone unit to remove leaves and other floating debris from your pond via a surface skimmer. The Cetus Sieve will efficiently and effectively remove large amounts of mechanical waste from your pond. The Cetus Sieve is compatible with all filtration systems, however it is the perfect prefilter for the Evolution Aqua Nexus filter range. For gravity fed systems the Cetus Sieve has a weir which will automatically adjust to the flow rate of your pump. (Max flow rate 18,000 litres/hr) When the Cetus Sieve is used in front of any other biological/mechanical filter the period in between cleaning will be extended. The biological process is improved by the removal of organic matter which would consume oxygen and leach ammonia and other compounds into the water.

The Cetus will allow a skimmer or a bottom drain to accept vast amounts of waste without excessive cleaning needed to be carried out. The water must then be pumped to either a normal filter above pond level (Nexus Eazy/Eazy Pod) or to a pressurised filter.

If pump fed, the sieve is placed above pond water level and then the exit water is gravity dropped into your main filter.
